If you feel like your nervous system is stuck in survival mode—this is for you.

SSP Coaching is designed for people who are functioning… but fried. Maybe you’re an overstimulated mom who hasn’t had five quiet minutes to yourself in weeks. Maybe you’re a college student trying to stay afloat while your mind races and your body shuts down. Or maybe you’re just tired of living in fight, flight, or freeze—even when everything looks “fine” from the outside.

This program is for adults and teens who are ready to support their nervous systems in a new way. You don’t need to dive into trauma work. You don’t need to over-explain. You just need a guide, a plan, and permission to start slow.

And if you’re already working with a therapist? Even better—this can be a powerful complement to deepen the work you're already doing.

Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP)

  • A nervous System Tune-Up for When Life Feels Too Loud

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a research-backed, music-based intervention that helps gently settle an overwhelmed nervous system. It works by using specially filtered music to support regulation, reduce sound sensitivities, and create more space for connection and calm.

Rooted in Polyvagal Theory, SSP is like a workout for your vagus nerve—the part of your nervous system that helps you shift out of fight-or-flight and into safety and connection. It’s non-invasive, gentle, and designed to support both kids and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, sensory overwhelm, and more.

You can listen to SSP with me in session, or remotely with light-touch coaching and check-ins. It’s not a quick fix—but it’s a powerful tool to help your system remember what safety feels like.

  • What Makes SSP Different

Why This Isn’t Just Background Music

SSP is a 5-hour auditory program created by Dr. Stephen Porges, the neuroscientist behind Polyvagal Theory. It’s not your average playlist—it’s specifically designed to help your nervous system settle, soften, and show up differently.

    Here’s what it can do:

    * Decrease sound sensitivity and sensory overload

    * Support better regulation of mood, energy, and behavior

    * Boost your ability to connect and engage with others

    * Help your body access safety, so therapy (and life) starts to feel more doable

It’s like giving your nervous system a reset button—so you can meet the hard stuff with more capacity and less chaos.

  • Polyvagal Theory: Why Safety Changes Everything

Your Body Knows Before You Do

Polyvagal Theory, developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, helps explain why we react the way we do—especially when life feels overwhelming. At its core, it’s the science of safety: how your nervous system is constantly scanning for cues of danger or calm, even before your brain can make sense of it.

When we understand how the body responds to stress, we can stop blaming ourselves for being "too much" or "too sensitive"—and start working with the nervous system instead of against it.

This theory gives us a powerful map for healing—one that uses body-based (or “bottom-up”) approaches like the Safe and Sound Protocol to shift how we feel, think, and connect. Because when the body feels safe, everything else starts to change.

For Parents: How SSP Can Support Your Child

If your child struggles with ADHD, anxiety, autism, or sensory overwhelm, SSP may help them feel more calm, connected, and in control.

The Safe and Sound Protocol is backed by research and built on Dr. Stephen Porges' Polyvagal Theory. It uses specially filtered music to help regulate the nervous system—which can reduce meltdowns, improve emotional regulation, and increase a child’s ability to focus, listen, and feel safe in their body.

Studies have shown improvements in children with:

  • Autism: Increased social engagement, emotional regulation, and reduced auditory hypersensitivity

  • ADHD: Better impulse control, attention, and self-regulation

  • Anxiety: Reduced nervous system reactivity and more capacity to engage in daily life

As a parent, you’ll be involved in the process. I’ll guide you through how it works, how to support your child during the listening sessions, and how to notice signs of progress. SSP is done at home, at your pace, with virtual check-ins to make sure you’re not doing this alone.
